Crawford Symphony III in A Major "Graduation Symphony"
For Full Orchestra
A Symphony for the celebration of achieving long-awaited goals that were worked hard for and entering a new chapter
Description
Crawford Wrote his symphony to congratulate his fellow seniors in high school of his freshman year. That senior class also included his sister, Zoë Crawford. He dedicated this piece to them because they were a majority of the only friends he had in high school at the time and didn’t know how to move on without them. The motif melody is what he likes to call his “Graduation Melody” and plays it whenever graduation comes to his mind.
This piece has fantastic Viola, Alto Flute, Euphonium, Low Strings, Violin, Trumpet, Horn, Mallets, and Oboe excerpts.
Fun Facts: Crawford rewrote almost the entire Finale in the second version of this symphony and added the Mallets.
