Crawford Symphony VIII in C Major "Classical Symphony"
For Full Orchestra
The Symphony dedicated to Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart, Joseph Franz Hadyn, and Ludwig Van Beethoven.
Description
Crawford dedicated this symphony to Mozart, Hadyn and Beethoven after discovering the classical era of and Beethoven's time of music. He grew to especially love Beethoven's symphonies and Mozart's style in his orchestration. He wanted to write a piece mixing up the styles of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky when he wrote this symphony.
This symphony has amazing Violin, Bassoon, Clarinet, Trombone, Tuba, Trumpet, Horn, Flute, Oboe, and Low Strings Excerpts.
Fun Fact: Crawford chose the key C Major because while it is his least favorite key, he considers it to be the most common key of the classical era.
